What's New

Attention Online Campus Users!

Monday December 5, 2011

We are proud to announce the coming release of the most overhauled and re-worked Online Campus in Slipstream history! We are upgrading to a new version which will be more user friendly with many more features including the ability to print your own certificate immediately on completion of your final exam. This upgrade also makes it possible for us to explore mobile friendly options for smart phones.

While we have done everything we can to ensure a smooth transition for existing users of the campus, we do want to advise you that you may experience some temporary technical difficulties over the next week or so. Please bear with us, check back again, or contact Slipstream Headquarters at 1-800-760-3188 or by email if you are having any trouble logging in or if you experience any other disruption.

If you are scheduled to take your online exam in the next few weeks, we have extended your deadline to December 31, 2011 for two reasons. Firstly, in case you have difficulties accessing your campus account this will give you more time to study. Secondly, there is a small chance that we may not receive your results if you attempt to write your exam during the transition phase. If you wish to write your exam now, please be aware that you may need to re-write it at a later date. Alternatively, you can wait until after the transition has happened and write your exam on the new site. We will be sending a follow up email to let you know when the upgraded site has been launched.

If you have any problems accessing your online campus account, Slipstream Headquarters is open Monday to Friday 9am-2pm to help you with any questions you may have. Again, please feel free to call or email us if you have any concerns.

RockTape course offered in Victoria

Tuesday September 22, 2011

RockTape is a kinesiology tape and is fantastic for treating common sports injuries like shin splints, plantars, and runner's knee. RockTape has recently introduced a new performance taping protocol called PowerTaping that can safely (and legally) enhance athletic performance. This Kinesio Taping technique involves applying tape to the entire "chain" of muscles, joints, and fascia that contribute to a specific movement. Athletes competing in marathons, triathlons, and other high performance events have experienced less fatigue and enhanced muscle activation throughout their competitions. PowerTaping Level 1 clinic will take place in Victoria, BC on November 26, 2011.

New shipment of Mwaniki bags has arrived

Thursday September 09, 2010

Slipstream is continuing to support the Muringato Primary School students by purchasing reusable cloth bags made by home economics students.

Here is a letter received from Mr. Mwaniki with the most recent shipment of bags:

"I am happy to hear that the bags have arrived in your office. I hope they will meet your expectations. I wish to notify you that I have used a part of the money raised to start the electricity project in our school. I bought materials for the wiring of the administration Block. I am looking for more funds to help in the installation of the electricity. This will greatly help the school since we shall manage at least to buy and install a computer in the school. I appreciate the great help you have shown to Muringato School. I look forward to meeting you in the near future either here in my country or your country.

I wish you the best Stay in touch.

Mwaniki"

Slipstream Proud Sponsor of "Being Caribou"

Thursday January 28, 2010

In 2003 Karsten Heuer and his wife Leanne Allison followed a herd of 120,000 caribou on foot for 5 months across 1,500 km of Arctic tundra. In following the herd's migration, the couple aspired to raise awareness of the threats to the caribou's survival. Along the way they braved severe arctic weather, icy rivers, hordes of mosquitoes and a very hungry grizzly bear.

Using a combination of stunning images, video clips, and compelling storytelling, Karsten delivers a presentation that will leave audiences spellbound and inspired. Karsten Heuer trained as a wildlife biologist and warden for Parks Canada.

Join us on February 1st at Max Cameron Theatre in Powell River to hear a tale of remarkable bravery, determination, and hope.
