We love the wilderness. It’s not only the source of our livelihood, but it’s the foundation of our lives. It provides us with adrenaline-filled adventures, meditative getaways and opportunities to socialize with other great people.
Because we care so much about the environment, we’re doing everything we can to help preserve it. We understand that every effort – small or large – makes a difference, and helps us minimize our negative footprint on the planet.
Here’s a list of Slipstream’s environmental contribution efforts:
-
We are taking steps to make our courses more environmentally-friendly through the use of technology.
-
Our students can opt-out of paper certificates.
-
We embrace a rigid recycling program within our offices.
-
Whenever possible, we teach our courses outdoors to save on electricity for lighting and heating classrooms.
-
We met and exceeded our goal to reduce paper use by 80% from 2009 levels, and continue to minimise paper use in all our operations.
- Administrative staff work from home whenever possible to minimise impact to natural and urban environments due to commuting.
- Online and Blended Delivery training options are offered in order to minimise the carbon footprint associated with student travel.
